Alexandra Muscaro
Singer, Actress, StoryTeller
About Alexandra
Alexandra is a singer, actress, and dramaturg. She is originally from Tampa, Florida and moved to New York to follow her dreams. Yes, she knows it sounds cliche but honesty tends to come off that way, now doesn't it?
Creating theatre is her passion. Alexandra believes that an artist’s greatest responsibility is to tell stories. Whether she is on stage telling a story or helping a playwright develop one, Alexandra takes that responsibility very seriously. History proves that story telling has the power to change the world, and she views any role she has in that process as a gift.
Alexandra dramaturgically works under the title of Purple Pen Dramaturgy. Her love for performing is equal to that of dramaturging. Alexandra’s dramaturgical projects range from national tours to award winning productions. She is the resident dramaturg of Mixing it Up Productions and is also the proud Playwriting Consultant for the New York New Works Theatre Festival. Alexandra is a member of The Dramatist Guild of America as well as The Recording Academy.
Alexandra graduated from Marymount Manhattan College where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts with a dual concentration in Performance as well as Theatre History and Performance Texts with a Minor in Musical. Yes, it's a mouthful, but she wouldn't have it any other way. Before graduating, Alexandra received the Certificate in Minor Honorable Mention for Musical Theatre presented to her by the MMC faculty. She is now earning a Masters degree in Arts in Medicine from the University of Florida.
When she’s not rehearsing or dramaturging a developing play, you will find Alexandra at the Metropolitan Museum of Art...specifically the Egyptian exhibit. If she’s not there, you’ll find her at home watching the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team, because Alexandra is in fact their biggest fan.
